Parallel prototyping is a rapid prototyping technique that is especially useful for larger groups, allowing multiple prototypes to be built by innovation team members at the same time.
With a service proposition in-hand, the innovation team breaks into smaller or solo-member groups to prototype the service innovation or idea.
Prototyping materials are provided, depending on the nature of the innovation. For example, if an app is being developed, paper wireframe cutouts are provided so that teams can label and arrange the various components as they see fit.
The prototypes are then presented to the entire team so that patterns can be identified and recommendations for refinement can be made.
