Open Law Lab: Lawbot, an interactive tool that can consult people on their legal situations

LawBot was started in 2016 at the University of Cambridge with a simple goal in mind: to help regular people understand the difficult rules that shape and govern our everyday life.

The law is often complex and detailed - leading to frustration and uncertainty for those affected by it. Crimes and private law claims of public importance often never make it to the desk of a certified lawyer who can represent the interests of wronged parties because victims are often unaware of the legal options at their disposal.

LawBot aims to solve this problem by providing a free and simple way to learn about the law and what it means for you.

Currently, our chatbot covers the major criminal offences in England & Wales. We are continuously expanding the range of topics LawBot can comment on to provide our clients with an ever-growing pool of free legal knowledge.
